About Me Personally
I am married to Lorraine Young who is also a Core Team Member for DNN.  We have been together for over 7 years, with the last 6 of those working together on Nexxus and DNN.  We have a dog Thor who has also come to work with us for the last 6 years so he is understandably a bit of a softie.  He likes going to meetings and the like and doesnt like closed office doors:)  Soon as you close it he will want to come in.

I live in Richmond Victoria and love living here.  Its a great spot good vibe to the area and plenty of facilities and places to go out for a beer or dinner.  Someone told me there were 3400 registered restaurants in Melbourne which is a good ratio for just under 3 million people.

This is how great Lorraine is.  The Harley Davidson Fat Boy you see below is my birthday present from Lorraine :)  How's that for a great wife.

I have recently become more environmentally aware and also become vegetarian, much to the dismay of those who know me.  I have started a new site called Hi Tech And Green where Im going to y to develop a community of like minded professionals and try to help reduce mine and others negative impac on the world.

About Me Professionally

philbeadle_sitting.gifLorraine (my wife) and I founded Nexxus Systems International in 1999, which was acquired 2004. I now work for Readify (www.readify.net) as a Senior Consultant which is a role that I am really enjoying. Varied work and a great team to work with. Readify now has 10 MVP's which is extraordinary for any company to have more than 1!!

I am a founding member of the DotNetNuke core team, a Microsoft Certified Application Developer and I am experienced in the development and commercial application of the DotNetNuke Framework based on Microsoft’s .NET technology. I have successfully developed and implemented sites for clients in Australia and overseas and was awarded the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) award in ASP/ASP.NET. Lorraine and I are in charge of the Help System sub-project for DNN.

Some of the high profile DNN sites I have worked on are www.nrl.com and www.afl.com.au and www.bigpondsport.com.  These sites all run on DNN and are the largest DNN installations in the world that we (DNN Core) know of.

I speak at quite a few technology conferences and .NET User Groups. I recently ran the Adelaide .Net User Groups Code Camp on ASP.Net web development using DotNetNuke which was very well received (see testimonial). I am a regular presenter at the Australian and Melbourne .Net Developers meetings and recently completed the MSDN update tour for Australia and New Zealand.  See my Events page for where Im on next.

I attended Tech Ed 2005 and presented at the grok session on the latest developments in ASP.Net 2.0 and also attended Tech Ed 2006 where I co presented with Graham Elliot on Commerce Serve 2007.  I am planning to try to get on the Tech Ed 2007 presenters list and do something on DNN in the enterprise.

Part of my role in the DotNetNuke Core Team is to be an evangelist for DNN. This is something I take a lot of pleasure in as promoting such a cool and advanced application such as DNN is a pleasure.
