I just built a custom control inheriting from ContentControl with a generic.xaml likie normal and tried to use it in a PRISM project I'm working on and I kept getting

AG_E_PARSER_BAD_TYPE !!!!

I figured out that my Shell application also needs a reference to the control as well as the Moduel I was working on?  Not sure why just a tip for you.
